Ford says the C-MAX will most likely get up to 47 miles per gallon in the city, compared to the Prius v, which only gets 44 miles per gallon in the city.
Raj Nair, group vice president for Ford, said, The C-MAX Hybrid builds on Fords 20 years of hybrid innovation and fuel-efficient offerings to take on [the] Prius v with better city fuel economy at 47 miles per gallon and at better valuea great chance for us to shake up the hybrid market. C-MAX Hybrid delivers 3 miles per gallon more than Prius v with 50 more horsepower and exclusive technologies such as our hands-free liftgateand the 1,300-lower base price means the payback period will be the smallest in the segment.
Besides offering great fuel economy, the 2013 C-MAX will be a versatile five-passenger hybrid vehicle. It will offer plenty of storage space, including second row seating that folds flat and in-floor storage. The C-MAX will come standard with the SmartGauge with EcoGuide, which provides two LCD screens that can provide a wide-range of information to make your driving experience the most fuel efficient as possible. One of these LCD screens will show the green motivator, which will grow leaves when the driving is efficient and disappear when it is not.
