The Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy, granted 14-year-old Louisa's wish to have her very own billiards room. Now she can throw some darts, bang her drums and play pool on her very own customized pool table with her name engraved on the front, which was donated by Olhausen Billiards. Louisa, who is battling Acute Myelocytic Leukemia, first found her love of the game at the age of 7 or 8 when she met a special counselor at the Boys and Girls Club in Ballard, Washington.
Through the special time they spent playing pool table games with one another, the counselor noticed Louisas talent and helped her get better at the game.
Since then, shares the Ballard News Tribune, She has been playing with her friends and other counselors at the Boys and Girls Club to improve her game. She has even entered in a couple club competitions, placing in the top three.
