He practiced medicine as a physician in Chicago until 1994 when he supplemented his education with the titles of Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administration at the University of Miami. Post graduation, Pinkert began his own private practice, Pinkert Law Firm P.A., and subsequently Pinkert Marsh, P.A. Currently, Pinkert maintains focus on counseling and consulting U.S. based companies on Chinese market entry. Over the past two years, he has worked on structuring acquisitions of state-of-the-art medical equipment in China. He has travelled extensively for his work and has developed a thirst for knowledge that is immeasurable. LawAlumni.com is a social and business-networking site that Pinkert created in 2002, four years after receiving his Juris Doctor in Miami, Florida. Pinkert believed that a client referral system among his law school colleagues would be an effective way of achieving
and maintaining clients, which was the motivation to create LawAlumni.com. Through the site, classmates could stay in touch, network, and refer clients. LawAlumni.com has several features including a chat room, graduate lawyer profiles, areas of practice, and a client referral section.
Steven Pinkert's programming experience began in 1965 at the University of Chicago Laboratory School as a first year high school student. He began learning to program and operate computers, spending hundreds of hours mastering the system. This background in information technology allowed Pinkert to personally write all of the code for the website using Cold Fusion for database interface. Upon completion, LawAlumni.com quickly gained success as a social and business-networking tool for many law school graduates.
