Renowned Saudi Designer To Make Key Presentation At Light Insight Arabia Conference

Al-Azem to discuss Lighting Design in the GCC

Noted Saudi lighting designer, Abdul Aziz Al-Azem, will be one of the key speakers at the upcoming Light Insight Arabia Conference that will be held alongside Light Middle East 2012, next month in Dubai. The conference will address recent trends and developments in the lighting industry and feature leading international experts discussing vital points of interest on the global lighting scene.

Al-Azem, founder and Chairman of Design Tech Services, will highlight the role played by Lighting Design in the Gulf Region, drawing on his considerable experience in the regional industry to throw light on the unique demands and trends that are currently shaping the market.

Al-Azem, who is considered one of the leading experts in his field in the Kingdom, began his career with a Bachelors in Interior Architecture from the Lebanese American University. He then went on to manage the design department in his fathers real estate company before moving to Berlin to work at the Karloff Ingenuire, a reputed European design firm.

While there, Al-Azem was involved with working on some iconic projects in Saudi Arabia and the UAE including: Jameel Square, Jeddah; Central Park Mall, Jeddah; King Abdullah Road, Riyadh; Deyar Al Bahr Residential Tower, Jeddah; Sheikh Anas Abudawood Beach Resort, Jeddah; and Latifah Tower, Dubai.

Later, Al-Azem did his Masters degree in Architectural Lighting Design from Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences Technology and Business Design before moving back to the Kingdom to set up his own design office in the capital, Riyadh.

Apart from Al-Azem, the Light Insight Arabic Conference, sponsored by GE, will feature a range of leading experts in the field of lighting design and technology from around the world. The conference brings together leading industry figures, thought leaders and key representatives from the corporate and government sectors in the region.

Light Middle East, which will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 1st to 3rd, 2012, is the only dedicated trade platform for the regions architectural lighting design and associated industries. As such, it is the sole event to spotlight innovative product development, current design trends and serves as a crucial platform for property developers, major clients and municipalities from around the region to source lighting solutions.
