Great Lakes Truck Driving School, in Columbia Station, Ohio, is hosting a job fair on Thursday, August 16th, 2012 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Over 40 companies will be in attendance to fill an immediate need for truck drivers, equipment operators, and oil and gas workers. Companies attending the job fair will be seeking experienced workers as well as assisting those who are looking to begin a new career.

"In my 26 years as a truck driving school administrator, this will be the largest truck driving job fair that I have ever hosted," said Doris Young, Owner - Great Lakes Truck Driving School. " We are excited to bring so many employers, government officials, veteran organizations and job seekers together in one place."

In response to the growing demand for truck drivers, Great Lakes Truck Driving School has formed partnerships with a number of area vocational schools. These schools will be present at the job fair to announce new truck driver training opportunities.

Job fair guests can register to win a free Class A CDL Course, the value of which is over 5,000. The winner will be selected by Great Lakes Truck Driving School's new training partners and will be announced during the event.

Veteran scholarship awards will be presented throughout the hiring fair. Representatives from Wounded Warrior Project, Veterans Energy Force, Recruit Military, and AMVETS will be announcing the recipients of Oil and Gas training scholarships on behalf of their organizations.

Government representatives will also be making an appearance including a representative from Governor Kasich's office and Ohio State Representatives Mike Dovilla and Terry Boose.

Job seekers are encouraged to bring a resume and be prepared to fill out applications. The job fair is free to attend and there is no need to register in advance.
