Timbrook Buick GMC, serving the Cumberland, MD area, is happy to share that the 2013 GMC Terrain will be available with a new V6 engine which will provide added horsepower, torque and towing capability while maintaining the fuel economy ratings of the outgoing model.
Replacing the 3.0-liter V6 in the 2012 Terrain, the new 3.6-liter V6 with direct injection and continuously variable valve timing will provide an SAE-certified 301 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque. The Terrain maintains its fuel economy, offering 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway on front-wheel drive models, while all-wheel drive models offer 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.
The newly equipped 2013 Terrain will be the most powerful Terrain produced by GMC. Vice president of GMC Marketing, Tony DiSalle says, This new 2012 Terrain engine delivers the uncompromised performance our customers desire.
Although the Terrains ability to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.7 seconds is impressive, Essy Ipakchian, lead development engineer for the Terrain, says that the additional power will serve much more practical applications for drivers.
Ipackchian explains, Theyll notice improved passing power with fewer downshifts, as well as stronger towing performance. The 2013 Terrains towing capacity is rated at 3,500 pounds.
It is scheduled to be released later this year, but anyone interested in learning more about the 2013 GMC Terrain or other GMC models can visit Timbrook Buick GMC online at www.timbrookgmc.com or stop by the dealership in Cumberland, MD to speak with an associate.
