With the growth of Windows and Office Franchises, Microsoft Corp is expected to achieve an 18% jump in their quarterly profit. But that may not affect or ease its speculation as it is a giant, dominating figure in computing market, reports Reuters in US Edition.
Until now, a record-breaking 350 million licenses for its Windows 7 operating system has been sold, by this company, which is the world's largest software company, since its launching 18 months ago, out of which, the latest Office suite is popular among businesses the world over.
According to investors, new gadgets, led by Apple Inc's will one day separate Microsoft from its customers.
Michael Yoshikami, chief executive of Fund Manager YCMNET Advisors says," The new tablets are making a sea of Microsoft customers comfortable using an operating system different than Microsoft's."
The toughest competition for Microsoft's monopolistic dominance of personal computers, comes from Apple I Pad along with various tablets running Google Inc's Android system.
PC sales fell 1%
in the first 3 months of the year, according to a research firm. PC sales are the most profitable factor of Microsoft's financial success. Despite strong result for Microsoft, the company, the company racked up record sales.
The investors will not be persuaded to change their outlook, even after Microsoft's 2.5 % dividend yield. Although some businesses are expecting an upward swing in Microsoft's shares after the results.
Microsoft is expected to post sales growth of 12% to 16.2 billion in its fiscal year, which is a considerable progress in a slow-moving economy but it may not be sufficient to maintain its dominance in technology.
