Introduce Of Cisco Transceivers

Cisco Transceiver Modules support Ethernet, Sonet/SDH and Fibre Channel applications across all Cisco switching and routing platforms. May 3rd, 2012.

United States (FreePressBox.com) May 3rd, 2012 --

Module transceivers serve a very important purpose in a large scale network, far outside the grasp of the basic home user. When you are choosing a set of transceivers for your network you will need to determine which brand you wish to buy. There are many of course but you have probably been informed as to the durability and usability of Cisco products. Cisco is famous for their networking equipment. Such as Optical NetworkingCisco router, Cisco switch, and more. And here, let us take an eye on Cisco Optical networking products. In other words, let learn Cisco via Cisco transceiver module.

Concept:

Cisco Transceiver Modules support Ethernet, Sonet/SDH and Fibre Channel applications across all Cisco switching and routing platforms. Cisco pluggable transceivers offer a convenient and cost effective solution for the adoption in data center, campus, metropolitan area access and ring networks, and storage area networks. Cisco portfolio of hot pluggable interfaces offers a rich set of choices in terms of speeds, protocols, reaches and supported transmission media. Cisco transceiver can be divided into the following categories. Cisco SFP, Cisco X2, Cisco XENPAK, Cisco XFP, Cisco SFP+, Cisco GBIC, Cisco CWDMCisco DWDM and Cisco MUX / DEMUX Modules.

What need to notice that Cisco products are indeed very durable and they will interface well with other Cisco products. In addition to that, Cisco's product support has always been superb, which means you can rely on replacements or immediate technical support in the event anything should happen to your established network.

There are two major problems with using Cisco transceivers, one of which is the price. Then again one could argue that you get what you pay for, especially in terms of network related items. The other disadvantage is the fact that you will need a network fully compliant with the Cisco hardware all the way down to transceivers on the network cards themselves. If your computers are under warranty it may be difficult to replace the network cards with compliant hardware which indicates you would need to have custom machines built. Whether or not this is possible in your case will of course remain to be seen.
