Get An Overview Of The Maritime Intelligence And Their Warfare

The Maritime Intelligence of the United States uses an ingenious method called the Command and Control System. Nov 1st, 2012.

United Kingdom (FreePressBox.com) Nov 1st, 2012 --

The Maritime Intelligence of the United States uses an ingenious method called the Command and Control System. This is used by both the maritime as well as the defence bodies of the country. At present, there are three completely separate bodies under this system, and each one serves a different purpose. The division in the system occurred in order to meet the requirements of the NATO and the DoD, both of which had separate requirements in the operation of battlespace management. The command and control system (c2 system) performs to protect the highly classified intelligence from any kind of interception whatsoever: be it via the interception of signals, the bugging of conferences or the wire tapping of messages. Internet security is also high on the list of this system.

The command and control system, also known as the c2 System, had been developed as the replacement for the Worldwide Military Command and Control System. The three different structures of the system, which serve three different organisations, are the Maritime, the Joint and the Army. The Maritime and the Army serve the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army and Air Force respectively. The Joint, on the other hand, serves the purpose of the organisations that operate with and alongside the NATO. In order to protect the confidential information, the Control and Command System makes use of double locks, shielding of rooms and making them proof to any attempt of bugging and also the allocation of special passwords as well as passes.

The command and Control system, however, is not exclusive to the Maritime Intelligence and the army. There is the existence of these centres also in quite a few correctional facilities, although all of these are among the biggest in the country, and play host to the most dangerous of criminals. In these faculties, these command and control centres serve the purpose of surveillance and monitoring of the alarm system. Coordination of tasks among the prisoners is also an important role played by this system. In the military and maritime outposts, the headquarters of the c2 system are usually in a room or a small building within the campus.

The command and control system also extends its functions to war when required. The part played by this system during these times is concerned strictly with communications. The idea would be clearer if one uses the term signal warfare, which is how the functions today performed by the c2 were known as earlier. The basic function of this system during war is to ensure that no information reaches the opponents while at the same time attempting to intercept the latters messages. Therefore, the officers of the military or Maritime Intelligence handling this job has to be extremely skilled in all the tactics that are followed and methods deployed in signal warfare. This includes even psychological warfare and psychological operations; besides, operational security must be maintained at all times. Other than these, the command and control centre is also entitled to employ various techniques of military deception, while at the same time carrying out electronic warfare, that is, waging war strictly through the airwaves.
