Lake Chevrolet has recently announced that they will soon feature Active Fuel Management technology in select V8 engines of the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. This fuel saving technology will give Silverado trucks greater fuel efficiency while still providing strong power and torque.

The technology allows the engine to turn off half of the cylinders when carrying a light-load in order to save fuel economy. When traveling lightly, the engine is not operating at full power and does not need air and fuel through all of its cylinders to maintain speed. AFM allows the engine to work less, giving the vehicle better fuel efficiency.
