Next there is the Toyota Prius v, a larger wagon variant of the original Prius. The Prius v wider and longer than its predecessor and provides a bigger cabin and more trunk space. It is powered by the same engine/motor as the original and delivers fuel economy ratings of 44 miles per gallon city and 40 miles per gallon highway.
For those looking for a more affordable and even more environmentally friendly option, Dick Dyer Toyota has the 2012 Prius c. The c stands for city as this model is smaller and more convenient for city and urban driving. The Prius c runs on a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine matched with an electric motor. Its smaller size allows for greater fuel efficiency, achieving 53 mpg city and 46 mpg highway.
The popular Toyota Camry and Toyota Highlander also come in hybrid variations. As with the Prius, these models are powered by an electric motor/generator in addition to their gas engine. Buyers will be pleased with 43 miles per gallon in the city and 39 miles per gallon on the highway with the Camry Hybrid. The Highlander Hybrid delivers 28 miles per gallon in the city and on the highway, a vast improvement from the original Highlander which gets 20 mpg in the city.
