DesignTech Systems held Technology Show for Mechanical Industry.
DesignTech Systems in association with Stratasys held seminar to create awareness for latest technology in mechanical engineering industry in Mumbai.
Mumbai 20th March, 2012:- DesignTech Systems Ltd in association with Stratasys Inc., conducted a seminar for the local mechanical industry in Mumbai today. The Seminar included the live demonstration of uPrint, one of the machines of Stratasys Inc., used to create robust and functional prototypes with ABSplus plastic material.
The discussion also highlighted the benefits of how prototyping early in the design cycle, facilitates the companies to identify design errors and create better quality and functionally superior products.
Mr. Sanjay Daga, Executive Vice President Operations, DesignTech Systems Ltd. explained, There are certain design errors or fallacies which cannot be identified using even the most advanced CAD/CAE software. E.g. functional or ergonomic design errors can only be identified physically, with the product in hand. However, if these errors are identified after the production process, then the company has to incur very high expenses and dedicate additional time for design rectification and redevelopment of the product.
He further added, with the competition getting more and more intense by every passing day, companies today are very time and cost conscious. Even a 6 months delay in the market, can mean a loss of 40% of the revenue. Hence, the earlier the design errors are identified in the Design and Development cycle, less expensive it is for the companies to rectify and resign the product. So, if the companies create a prototype at the concept stage, it becomes easier to analyse the product, functionally, ergonomically and also aesthetically, which incidentally boost innovation and imagination of the designers, thereby enabling companies to create robust products.
