(Cri-report) - In 2012, for telecommunication industry, it is significant to regulate the behaviors of telecommunication charges and strengthen the supervision of telecommunication expenses, billing and charges, promoting the telecommunication charges to a reasonable level; set more specifications for the billing and charges, strengthen the supervision of the telecommunication service qualities and severely strike the phenomenon of the price-gouging and built-in charges, improving the handling mechanism for consumer complaints.

Currently, the prospect for the development of the telecommunication industry in China is rather bright. According to the statistic of the Ministry of Industry and research report from www.cri-report.com, in the first quarter of 2012, the total national business volume of telecommunication industry reached CNY 311.87 billion, with an increase of 17.4% over the same period of last year; the sales revenue of the main business of the telecommunication industry reached CNY 250.55 billion, with an increase of 10.2% over the same period of last year. The number of the new-added mobile phones and the Internet users respectively reached 32.57 million and 7.55 million. By the end of March, the number of the national mobile phones and the Internet users respectively reached 1.02 billion and 160 million and the revenue of software business increased by 26.4%. However, in the vigorous development process of the telecommunication industry, the improper charges and some other illegal actions negatively impact on the telecommunication industry.

The telecommunication enterprises are urged to sort out the fees packages, simplify the fee structures, improve the transparency of the fees and clearly mark the price tags in the process of telecommunication charges. The Ministry of Industry expresses that telecommunication enterprises which seriously infract the legitimate rights and interests of consumers will be punished severely; those enterprises with malicious violations and many bad records will be noticed to suspend business for rectification and be exposed through the media.
