Just yesterday, Toyota announced its companys new tagline, Lets go places. The tagline reflects the commitment of Toyota to innovative and unique products, as well as an invitation for customers to take a larger role in shaping the future of Toyota. Toyota revealed the new theme at the Toyota National Dealer Meeting in Las Vegas and symbolizes the very vision of Toyotas president, Akio Toyoda.
The essence of the tagline evokes a sense of progression and momentum. It reflects the optimism with which Toyota looks to the future of its customers, employees, and vehicles. It emphasizes big dreams on the part of its innovators and its customers. The tagline will debut on New Years Eve as part of the campaign for the totally new Avalon, which embodies the new direction of Toyota. The tagline will replace Toyotas current tagline, Moving Forward.
The new tagline has evolved from serious research and collaboration with Burrell, Intertrend, Dentsu America, Conill, Saatchi Saatchi, and Greico Research. Toyota wanted a slogan that would epitomize innovation for a better way to live and drive, which is at the core of the companyin its new and improved vehicles for the 2013 year, in its community-giving programs like 100 Cars for Good, and in its partnerships such as the Personal Branding Initiative, which is integral in helping military veterans translate their skills into careers.
Bill Fay, group vice president and general manager of the Toyota Division, said, Lets Go Places speaks to the evolution of Toyota and our commitment to leading through innovation, enriching lives and connecting with customers in new ways they define. It is energetic, aspirational, inclusive and very versatile. The phrase conveys a dual meaning of physically going places and taking off on an adventure, while also expressing optimism and the promise of exciting innovation that enriches peoples lives. It allows our associates, customers, dealers, and suppliers to interpret it in ways that are most personally relevant to them.
