Bmw Of Murrieta Near Temecula Will Carry Bmws With Connecteddrive

BMW ConnectedDrive will be available in some BMW cars at BMW of Murrieta next fall. The improved system connects users with their BMW and the rest of the world. Jul 27th, 2012.

United States (FreePressBox.com) Jul 27th, 2012 --

In 1994, BMW became the first carmaker to offer a built-in navigation system in the BMW 7 Series. BMW has come a long way since then, and recently they announced the new ConnectedDrive system that will be available at BMWs from BMW of Murrieta in fall of 2013. Although this system is still a year out, it is so advanced and innovative it is worth talking about right now.

The original ConnectedDrive system debuted over a year ago but a new design and more innovative features will arrive next fall. The new ConnectedDrive system will allow BMW drivers to be connected while in their BMW, but also outside of their BMW. This new system will appear in the BMW 5 Series, 5 Series Gran Turismo and 7 Series models as well as the new BMW ActiveHybrid 3.

The first new innovation of the system is with the BMW Navigation Professional. Routes will be rendered in 3D with building graphics for a more realistic navigation experience. The interface was also redesigned to be visually appealing.

Next, BMW drivers will now people to wireless connect to their BMW. BMW will be the first manufacturer to integrate a 4G LTE hotspot inside the car. This mobile internet system utilizes a dongle that can also be removed from the car for on-the-go internet access.

Another way drivers can connect through ConnectedDrive to their BMW is through their smartphone. Drivers can compose or reply to short emails or text messages through voice recognition. Other smartphone apps from 3rd party developers are now more easily integrated into ConnectedDrive.

Another addition to the ConnectedDrive system is the iDrive touch controller. The knob is now touch sensitive and can be used to finger write letters instead of scrolling through the alphabet. Not only does it allow letters to be written out, but it also lets drivers navigate in maps, including zooming in and out with the touch of a finger.

BMW defines its ConnectedDrive as the innovative connection between you, your BMW and the rest of the world. ConnectedDrive blends apps, navigation, smartphone integration, infotainment and telematics to create an improved driving environment for BMW drivers.
