BMW of Watertown now offers the 2013 BMW X1 in both 28i and 35i trims. This marks the debut of the X1 model in the United States, although it has been made throughout Europe since 2009. With the growing popularity of crossovers, BMW has unveiled the 2013 X1 to the US.
As the more impressive of the two trims, the North American exclusive 35i is more than just another pretty sport activity vehicle. It earns the BMW branding with a 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft twin-scroll turbo 3.0L six-cylinder engine.
The lesser 28i comes with a still powerful twin-scroll 2.0L four-cylinder mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission together pushing 241 horsepower. Even with all its available power, the X1 is still a comfortable crossover in terms of ride quality. The X1 28i has been a strong seller for BMW in Canada and should translate well into the US market.
The X1 35i comes with xDrive all-wheel drive standard while the 28i has xDrive as an optional add-on. Owners can also add the M Sport Package with a sports suspension, 18-inch wheels, and various trim upgrades. BMW of Watertown has both the 28i and the upgraded 35i available.
